PPF FOR NEW CARS CALGARY

Your New Car Will Get Its First Rock Chip Within 30 Days

It sounds harsh, but Calgary roads are unforgiving. The QE2 corridor, Deerfoot Trail, and Stoney Trail all throw gravel year-round. The average new car in Calgary gets its first rock chip on the hood within the first month of ownership — and it doesn’t stop there.

The best time to apply paint protection film is before the first chip happens. A new car with factory-perfect paint is the ideal PPF candidate — no prep work, no chip repair, no paint correction needed. Film goes straight on a perfect surface.

Many new car buyers pick up PPF the same day as delivery. Some dealerships offer it in the F&I office, but aftermarket installation at Calgary PPF delivers better quality film and professional-grade installation for a lower cost.

Why New Cars Benefit Most From PPF

Perfect Paint = Perfect Base — Brand new factory paint is the ideal PPF substrate. No defects to hide, no chips to work around, no colour mismatches.

Resale Value Protection — Vehicles sold with documented PPF and pristine paint command $1,500–$4,000 more at resale than equivalent unprotected vehicles.

Warranty Safe — 3M PPF is fully reversible and will not void your vehicle manufacturer’s warranty.

Insurance Value — Some insurance companies recognize PPF as a paint damage mitigation measure. Check with your broker.

Peace of Mind — Drive your new car without wincing every time a truck passes on the highway.

PPF vs. Dealership Ceramic Sealant

Many dealerships push a “paint sealant” or “ceramic protection” product at delivery for $700–$1,500. These products provide minimal physical protection and offer no defence against rock chips — they’re essentially glorified wax.

3M PPF is a physical barrier — a 200-micron film that absorbs impact energy before it reaches your paint. There is no comparison between a paint sealant and PPF for rock chip protection.

If you’ve already paid for a dealership paint sealant, PPF can still be applied on top of it. We recommend decontamination before film application to ensure proper adhesion.

New Car PPF — What to Expect

New car installations are the cleanest, most straightforward PPF jobs we do. Factory paint requires minimal prep. Pattern templates fit new vehicles perfectly. Installation typically takes half a day for partial front coverage.

We recommend waiting 30 days after delivery before PPF installation if the vehicle has had any paint touch-ups at the dealer. Fresh touch-up paint needs time to fully cure before film adhesive is applied.

After installation, avoid high-pressure car washes for 7 days to let the film adhesive fully cure. Gentle hand washing is fine from day one.
