Warranty

Frequently Asked Questions

The original purchaser of Calgary PPF services is covered by this warranty. This warranty is not transferable.

This limited warranty is valid from the date of substantial completion of installation up to 10 years.

The installation is warranted that it was installed under industry standards and the manufactureru2019s installation instructions. Any fault of the installer or defect in the film product itself, such as peeling (not due to customer damage), bubbles that do not go away (not due to customer damage), yellowing or pulling back of the film or adhesive (not due to customer damage).

General Wear and Tear: damages caused by flying rocks and debris will naturally have a wear and tear effect on the film. These films are designed to take this abuse so your vehicleu2019s painted surfaces do not. After time, this wear will become more and more evident. This is not warranty. These films however, are very resilient and stand up well for years.

Customer Damage: Pressure washer accidents, buffer accidents, damage from strong solvents, manually peeling up film and manually scratching the film are not covered under warranty.

Damage to Your Vehicle From Flying Rocks and Debris: Warranty in no way covers any portion of the customeru2019s vehicle itself. These films are resilient, but not invincible. Any flying projectile over a certain velocity may puncture the film, the vehicleu2019s paint or glass surfaces. These are not warranty.

Other Parties: Any damage to the film caused by third parties such as auto body shops, service shops, etc.

What Is and Is Not Covered

Calgary PPF backs every installation with a 10-year limited warranty. Coverage is for the original purchaser only and is non-transferable.

Covered under warranty:

  • Peeling or lifting of film not caused by customer damage or improper care
  • Persistent bubbling that does not resolve after the standard curing period (2 to 4 weeks)
  • Yellowing or discolouration of the film under normal use conditions
  • Adhesive failure not related to chemical exposure or customer damage
  • Manufacturer defects in the film product itself

Not covered under warranty:

  • Rock chip and road debris impact — The film absorbs this damage so your paint does not. Impact marks on the film are normal wear, not a defect.
  • Customer-caused damage — Pressure washer damage, buffer accidents, manual peeling, scratching, or solvent damage.
  • Third-party damage — Work done on the film by other shops voids coverage for the affected area.
  • Vehicle paint itself — The warranty covers the film only, not the underlying paint.

How to Make a Warranty Claim

  1. Contact us first — Call (587) 324-1993 or use our contact form to describe the issue.
  2. Bring in your vehicle — We will inspect the film in person at either of our Calgary locations.
  3. Provide your original invoice — This confirms the date of installation, vehicle, and film type covered.
  4. We assess and resolve — If the issue is covered, we repair or replace the affected film at no charge.

We stand behind our work. If there is a legitimate defect, we will make it right.

Warranty FAQ

Does the warranty transfer if I sell my car?
No. The warranty covers the original purchaser only and does not transfer with the vehicle.

What happens when a rock chips the film?
Rock chip damage is not a warranty issue — that is exactly what the film is there for. Self-healing films recover from minor surface scratches on their own with heat. Severe damage can be repaired by replacing individual sections at a reasonable cost.

Can I take my car through an automatic car wash?
Touchless car washes are fine. Avoid brush-style automatic car washes. See the Care Instructions page for full details.

Is there a deductible for a warranty claim?
No. Valid warranty repairs are completed at no charge to you.

Does work done by another shop void the warranty?
Work done on the film by a third party can void coverage for the affected area. Contact us before authorising any third party to work on or around the protected panels.
